weaving silence

archival pigment prints woven with metallic threads and delicate papers

“Weaving Silence” is a tribute to time spent in the North Woods—a remote sanctuary within Central Park where the relentless energy of New York City softens into a rare stillness. After a snowfall, the landscape transforms into something ephemeral, pristine, and profoundly moving.

Walking through the snow-covered woods has become a meditative ritual. As the city fades beneath a soft white veil, I am transported. In this quiet space, I find peace, clarity, and a deep connection to the present - and to myself.

I photograph these landscapes, then transform the images through a process of cutting, weaving, and layering with metallic threads and delicate papers. My materials are translucent, fragile, and subtly reflective and become a tapestry that honors this ephemeral landscape. I seek to preserve that calm through the act of creation.

“Weaving Silence”  is my offering of stillness—a tribute to the transient essence of winter and the overlooked magic that can be found in urban settings. It is an invitation to notice, to breathe, and to reconnect with nature - to rediscover the beauty that so often goes unnoticed amid the city’s rush.
